Is your dentist out-of-network? Ask them about Assignment of Benefits (AOB)!

Members receiving dental services from an out-of-network dental provider are able to request Assignment of Benefits from their dentist. 

The Assignment of Benefits provision authorizes Delta Dental to pay the provider directly for Delta Dental's portion of the cost, which should leave you responsible for only your portion of the cost at the time of service.

This provision is available to the BSSP group numbers only; it is not a Delta Dental-wide option.

Providers must agree to accept assignment of benefits and the authorization must be done each time you have dental services. And don't forget...the Assignment of Benefits authorization must be requested each time you visit the dentist.
